English (deutsch weiter unten):
So finally i found the time to write my next post. I’m not really sure how this post should look like. The idea behind it is to make a mixture between a recital/list and a continuous text to make the position from which i write more transparent.
I’m a white person which means that i’m not affected by racism. I’m also not impacted by anti-Semitism. I’m a Currently Abled Person*1. I have thin privilege (thin in terms of a socially accepted body size*2). Sexual privilege*3 (even though my sexuality is surely not what main parts of society*4 would consider as perfectly “normal” and “healthy”, it’s still different than for folks who identify as asexual). I have a passport of a country which is in the European Union. I come from a wealthy middle class family, which is still financially supporting me with the only constraint that i have to go to University.
Which brings me to the fact that i have access to the higher educational system and the academic complex. Being in the University in Germany as an EU Citizen means that i have a health insurance. Which is a really big privilege for itself but additionally when thinking about trans*relating topics it gives me (here in Germany) the privilege of paid hormones, paid therapists, possibility of paid voice lessons, the possibility of getting trans*related operations paid and so on. Also i speak the official language of the country i live in and i have dyadic privilege (non-intersex people are dyadically sexed).
Also a really important fact to mention is that i have the possibility to be part of a quite big queer feminist scene. This gives me benefits in a lot of different ways, for example the possibility to move in spaces where Trans*people are accepted, to find people who have shared experiences and to move around without being constantly looked at.
All of these facts shape what and how i write (also that i even have the chance and structures to write) and i benefit from all of this every day in a lot of different ways. This is surely not a complete list, just the things i was aware of right now.
Also if i m not aware of something while i write and fuck up a please call me out! As well if i have used terms which are not okay or problematic please tell me.
Besides the fact that my privileges have a great influence on this blog there are also some not so pleasant facts that have influence on the position i’m writing from and what i’m writing about (these not so pleasant facts have a lot to do with the oppressions i’m negatively affected by). This is not going to be the try to make a full list of everything that affects me just some things which are important for me to mention.
Probably the most obvious point to start with is that i m not cis gendered*5 and i have no passing privilege*6 (yet).
That’s often not too much fun (and by that i don’t mean that’s its sooo hard to be trans*, it’s the power relations in our society which make it sometimes not so much fun) but i would like to make clear that i’m mainly talking about the effects of being a not passing trans*femininity in a radical queer feminist scene. Because besides getting a lot of comfort out of my scene it’s not always like in my pipe dreams.
What has a big influence as well is my mental (not)health.
I have been dealing with depression for quite a long time. And i have social anxiety beside other anxieties. This creates a lot of insecurities and problems in daily life, sometimes i’m just happy that i came out of my bed.
What i would also like to mention is that the access to trans*relating benefits within the healthcare system goes hand in hand with pathologization and being forced to go to therapy over years (also my mental health issues have a lot to do with pathologization.)
Also i have some issues with my body (and i don’t mean that in terms of genitals, size of my breast and so on). I have had issues with my weight since i was 15, and i have been setting myself on all kind of different diets. Right now i feel like i found a way to deal with it but it’s a balancing act.
There are a lot of things i would love to go to into more detail (such as Trans* femininity or mental health and queerfeminist scene, social anxiety and Uni/daily life/scene and and and) and hopefully i’ll find the time to make these topics to their one posts soon.
Most of (if not all) these things above have a lot to do with the society i live in, namely a capitalist kyriarchal*7 one. Also these things don’t exist just for themselves, they intersect and determine each other. I mention this because i think it’s important to give the personal a political sphere. I also do not think that these things are natural and not changeable because that would negate wonderful possibilities of subversive action to change the ways we live and interact with each other on a societal level.
Deutsch:
Falls ich etwas Unüberlegtes, Verletzendes oder schlechthin Beschießenes schreibe macht mich bitte darauf Aufmerksam (call me out).

When i talk about Society in this text, i always refer to the one i’m living in right now, a capitalist western European one. I think this is important to mention because not every society works like the western capitalistic.
